Continence Matters is incredibly proud to be announced as the South Australian winner for the Accelerating Women category in the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards. This award is a powerful validation of our core mission: to improve lives through health, gender equity, and innovation.

For over two decades, our work has been dedicated to accelerating women, a mission driven by the lived experience of our founder, Dr. Samantha Pillay OAM. As the first female urological surgeon in South Australia, she broke barriers in a field where only 4% of surgeons were women and has since built a platform for systemic change.

Our contribution to accelerating women is a multi-layered "pipeline of purpose":

  • Clinical Excellence: At its heart, Continence Matters is a specialist urological practice that empowers a predominantly female patient base, helping them regain their quality of life from often-stigmatized conditions.
  • Educating and Empowering Professionals: We accelerate women in the healthcare sector through our RACGP-accredited online course and workshops, upskilling a majority-female GP workforce to lead in their own communities.
  • Inspiring the Next Generation: Through the international #1 bestselling "Inspirational Careers for Kids" book series, we challenge gender stereotypes from the age of seven, showing young girls that they can be surgeons, astronauts, and leaders.
  • Global Advocacy Through Innovation: With AIFilm4Good, the world's first AI film studio for social impact, we create award-winning films like "An Incontinent Truth" and "Become a Surgeon" that advocate for women's health and leadership on a global stage.

This award recognizes every facet of our work—from the consulting room to the classroom to the camera lens. We are honoured to be recognized and are excited to represent South Australia at the national finals.
